We have four central committees which include Programme & Development, Wellbeing & Development, Travel and Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs.

Committee members are elected annually by their peers and are chosen to represent YFCU at different events and share about what they are doing for young people that live in rural communities across Northern Ireland.

The YFCU Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee are responsible for responding to agricultural, rural and environmental legislation and oversee the actions of the DAERA funding platform. Committee members develop and provide educational training opportunities such as farm safety and organise the annual Agri-Trip and Agri-Food conference.

The YFCU Programme & Development Committee work alongside our Events team to develop different programmes and competitions, making suggestions for improvement and speaking out on behalf of the members. They review new sponsorship options look for ways to grow participation across all competitions.

The YFCU Wellbeing & Development (W&D) Committee focus on how best they can support fellow members and promote a positive mental wellbeing. There are a number of trained YFSeesYou Ambassadors who undertake extensive training to be able to conduct talks and address discussions surrounding mental health and wellbeing.

The YFCU Travel Committee was formed to further support the exchange opportunities for members and generate new travel opportunities. The committee are responsible for liaising and sourcing hosts for incoming exchanges, selecting those wishing to go on an exchange and rally and are point of contact for the International Farm Youth Exchange and YFA organisations.​
