Matthew Wilson from Cappagh YFC was named the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster Junior Member of the Year at the association’s Annual General Meeting and conference which took place at the La Mon Hotel. Sponsored by United Feeds, Matthew was one of six finalists for the award.
Matthew has been an active club member for 5 years now and since taking up membership with Cappagh YFC he has got stuck into everything the organisation has to offer. Matthew’s favourite competitions are stock judging and public speaking, although he tries everything that he can attend. Matthew has always been one of Cappagh’s most active junior members, particularly at their club barbeque. Matthew is one of the members who helps set up, clean up and on the night is one of the main car parking stewards. In this role he is fully committed to helping the club, and feels that he is only one of the small cogs to keep the big wheel turning. Matthew is a perfect example of a true YFCU member as he is always showing willingness to help take part in club meetings, events and competitions.
Courtesy of United Feeds, Matthew received the William Wilson Cup and £100 worth of vouchers from a shop of his choice.
