Lauren Boyd from Straid YFC - Winner of the YFCU 90th Mascot Competition
Back in January the YFCU launched an exciting competition for members to design the mascot for the Association’s 90th Anniversary.
We received lots of original designs, making for a tough decision for our judging panel. Ultimately, the best graphical representation was chosen for its creativity, skilled drawing and fun character. The winner of the competition is Lauren Boyd from Straid YFC!
Lauren has been an active member for three years; enjoying all that YFCU has to offer! Lauren especially likes meeting members from other clubs, making new friends, and taking part in the competitions, such as Home Management, Photography, Choir, Stock Judging, Public Speaking and Group Debating.
Lauren was thrilled to win the competition, commenting “I entered as I saw the competition on Facebook and enjoy drawing as a hobby. I never expected to win and was shocked when I received the phone call. I’m delighted and I can’t wait to see my design come to life as a character!”
As part of the prize Lauren was able to visit the design agency, Page Setup Design, and see how her design would be developed and ‘come to life’.
The design is now final and will be unveiled Tuesday 14 May on Facebook. Also keep an eye out for ‘YFCU Moo’ at the Balmoral Show!
YFCU would also like to recognise Lauren McNeill from Kilraughts YFC from for her highly commended submission.
Thank you to all the members who submitted designs.
