This is What Young Farmers' Really Do

Several Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster have been showcasing the true values of being a Young Farmer through offering their services and help to local communities in the current crisis. Clubs have been offering services such as; collecting food, medical supplies, topping up electrical cards to even offering a friendly voice over the phone.

This week saw Moycraig Young Farmers join forces with Mosside Community Association to help support the elderly and vulnerable in their community.

On Monday and Tuesday evening Moycraig YFC opened a food bank welcoming food donations from the public. They were so overwhelmed by the response of donations that they had to open the hall for an extra evening.

Following government’s social distancing guidelines donations where left at the club hall entrance and then two members sorted the donations into food parcels inside.

The food bank was a great success with over 40 parcels of urgent supplies created and distributed to both rural and village households, completely free of charge.
