KILREA YFC- CLUB OF THE YEAR 2020 WINNERS
19 May 2020
Covid-19 didn't stop this year's prestigious final of the YFCU Club Of The Year 2020 from taking place!
The competition sponsored by Power NI, this year was extremely tight, however, five clubs stood out and made it to this year's final, the clubs through where: Kilrea YFC, RandalstownYFC, Glarryford YFC, Holestone YFC, and Lisnamurrican YFC.
Unlike, normal years where the final consists of a quiz amongst the finalists, this year, the YFCU adapted the final stage and asked the finalists to create a video with the title, ' What Makes my Club a Good Club?' Clubs where given five themes which they had to include, which where; the efficiency of the Club Officers, the breadth of club activity and membership participation in these activities, adherence to the Articles of Association, the innovation of the club. The videos were judged and the scores added to the totals from the previous stages.
With all the scores added up, Kilrea Young Farmers' came out on top!
Kilrea YFC said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the YFCU Club of the Year. This is a great achievement for the club especially as we are going into our 75th anniversary year. The hard work and dedication of the memebers over the last twelve months has paid off.”
Emily Fair, Commercial Marketing Executive at Power NI, commented, “Congratulations to Kilrea YFC for claiming the title! We’ve really enjoyed supporting YFCU in their 90th Anniversary year and it’s great that the Club of the Year competition was still able to take place, despite the challenging times we’re all currently facing.”
