The final was the culmination of several competition stages which began back in autumn 2019.
Supported by Northern Ireland Pork, this year’s task was to produce a 2-course meal (main and desert) with a focus on using ingredients that are commonly found in our kitchen cupboards which reflects the current lockdown situation. The ‘hero’ ingredient of the main had to be at least one type Northern Ireland Pork and Bacon.
Seniors had the additional task of providing an alternative substitute ingredient suggestion for at least one of their recipes.
Chef Paula McIntyre judged the entrants’ presented dishes to determine the results.
